Manufactured for women who are “expecting”. What should YOU expect from Elastin 3? Here’s our review

by Jessica Ava

Robelyn Laboratory makes products to care for the skin of expectant women, and Elastin 3 is designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. This is something that many expecting woman are extremely interested in, as those stretch marks can be especially prominent in some women and will last for the rest of their lives in many cases. Women who want to get through their pregnancy without carrying those stretch marks with them for the rest of their life turn to skin care products like this one by Robelyn Laboratory – but is it really the real deal?

The manufacturer claims that the product will result in healthier skin during and after pregnancy, allowing pregnant women and new moms to have a superior quality of life. And who wouldn’t want that?

How do stretch marks form?

Read our Elastin 3 Review

In addition to pregnancy, you may also develop stretch marks from weight lifting, puberty, excessive weight gain and growth spurts. Elastin 3 has a formula that is designed to diminish the appearance of stretch marks. Since expectant mothers and new moms are a target demographic, Elastin 3 was made to be safe for women, but it works well for men, as well. Even those who are not expecting but partaking in activities that might result in stretch marks can benefit from this product.

Of note, mothers who are nursing their infants shouldn’t apply Elastin 3 on skin areas where their infants might nurse. The product does contain parabens and peptides.

What kind of ingredients does the product use?

This product contains some ingredients that are not as common in products of its type. Soy extract and Argireline are helpful ingredients, and Argireline has a fairly good track record for skin care. Elastin 3 also contains elastin and collagen, which are common ingredients used in stretch mark reducers. These two ingredients perform the bulk of the work when it comes to getting rid of stretch marks. And they are found in many other products made for the same purpose.

Peptide, an amino acid, is not as often found in the products of competitors, and it’s quite helpful when you want to repair and restore your skin.

Effects

What are some positive aspects?

This cream is absorbed quickly into your skin, so it won’t just sit on the skin surface. Be sure that you apply it so that it will be absorbed well, or you won’t see many positive results.

The makers of Elastin 3 claim that it tightens the skin, so it may be helpful in reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This is just an added benefit, since the product is mainly marketed for the reduction of stretch marks, and is not advised to be used primarily as a wrinkle reducer. You can use this product on any skin type or tone.

What about some “cons”?

Pricewise, this product is more expensive than many creams that purport to achieve the same results or better. It’s not the highest priced product, but it’s not among the lowest, either. If you’re shopping on a budget, then you’ll probably want to keep looking to find the right stretch mark cream for you.

Elastin and collagen are ingredients that are considered helpful, but you can find them in products that are less expensive than Elastin 3. The maker of this product is quite ambiguous about whether it will work on older stretch marks, too, so if you are trying to rid yourself of stretch marks that have been there for awhile, you might be better off with another product.

What are the side effects?

There have not been any serious side effects reported, although you may experience irritation of the skin. This is especially true if your skin is sensitive to topical products.

When can you expect results?

The makers of this product don’t show any clinical trial results to back up their claims. In addition, they don’t give a timeline as to when you might see results. The product works on stretch marks on both dermis and epidermis skin layers.

What do actual users say?

When I got pregnant I was worried about stretch marks because I got REALLY bad ones during puberty. My friend who gained A LOT of weight during her pregnancy suggested this product. She used generous amounts 3x daily and got no marks. Now she recommends it to everyone who is pregnant. I started using it at 5 months and at 9 1/2 months (45 pounds gained / 5’6″) I have no trace of new marks either. It has been over 20 years since I got the stretch marks during puberty so they have already faded to silver lines. Hard to tell if they have faded even more as a result of my current use of this product. I should have taken a picture in the beginning. Now my skin looks great and my original stretch marks are definitely definitely not more noticeable than before pregnancy. To me that is success. I think Elastin3 is worth the price tag. – By DSB “D.S.B.” (Austin, Texas), Amazon.com

I have had marks on my inner thighs and arms for years now from weight training and just accepted that I was going to have them forever. A few months ago I started lifting heavy again and saw a few more forming on my arms and legs. After only one week of use, my scars are fading drastically, even the darker ones. I was so skeptical and was discouraged by the price, but yes, it is worth it. At this rate, they will be gone in a month’s time or less. Highly recommended. – By Threfty, Amazon.com

What’s our verdict?

Testimonials and photographs show promise of Elastin 3 effectiveness. But until they run clinical trials or major studies, the effects for most people cannot be disproved or proven.
