Top Skin Care Saviors of All Time
Somehow, it already feels like so much fun writing this one. I love skincare and it truly has become such a passion over the years, but my preferences do tend to change. It can be tough to pin down those that really are the best of the best.
Especially because the best skincare products really can be subjective. But hey ho, I’m still going to give this one a go and try to write it very objectively, but giving you my very own advice of course.
I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while because it really does cover off everything – including those products that I continuous buy, rebuy and will always buy. That really says something, now doesn’t it.
So let’s get to it.
Navigating Your Way Around MonicasBeauty.com
So, we decided to break this website into main sections based on the different skincare concerns most of us women (blush) have. Within each main section, you will find the best products and articles for each skin concern. Hope you like it!
This one was quite tough. I’ve been using quite a few cleansers lately, but there is one that’s definitely stuck – Liz Earle’s Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish. It’s a show stopper. Not only can you feel it clear your skin as it goes, but using the muslin cloth makes it feel like a bit of pampering, each time you cleanse.
It tops my list every time and doubts that it will ever be knocked off the first spot, but we will see.
Toners are a little bit tougher for me, but I felt like I should include one all the same. I’ve trialed the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference range before and I loved the Skin Balancing Toner – it was a gem. You can feel it get to work, it’s light and leaves your skin feeling refreshed rather than greasy.
It’s also great for normal to combination skin, so covers a wide range of skin types – which makes me feel a little less subjective on this one!
When it comes to moisturizing for the day ahead, I can change my mind. It really does depend on the season and how my skin is feeling. If I’m having a good week and my diet is on point, I can do with something quite light – but if I’ve been hitting the huge and lacking on water, I always need something heavier.
Regardless, I find the Vichy Idealia range is perfect. It’s great for anti-aging so had a radiant effect, which I always love for the day. The Smoothing and Illuminating Cream is one of my all-time favorites for this reason and even though others have won me over temporarily, this one always wins.
When it comes to night creams, I’m actually going to go for something different. As much as I love a luxurious cream for my beauty sleep, I’ve actually been loving richer oils so much more lately. My weapon of choice has to be StriVectin High-Performance Booster Oil.
I’ve used a few before, especially as my obsession started, but none have been like this one. It’s light and unscented – which is a huge plus for me (so many have smelt awful in the past) and it’s probably the skin care product I recommend the most.
Exfoliators can be hard for me to trial, as I hate anything too heavy – especially when something feels harsh on the skin. But there has to be one clear winner here. Technically it is a cleanser, but I always use it for its exfoliating properties.
REN’s Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser is the best skin care product for combination skin. I find that it can be a bit heavy to use daily as a cleanser, so I opt to use it a few times a week as an exfoliator and it does the job perfectly. The clay makeup of the product is the perfect ingredient for me.
This one’s a toughie. I’ve tried many and have had a really hard time narrowing it down. But, I have and I’m going to keep it short and sweet. It has to be Murad’s Essentials Eye Cream. It’s light and has worked wonders on my under eyes. For anyone looking for a radiant and light reflecting product, this is the one for you.
Primers are one of my favorite products. I will be honest and say that I tend to use a few, depending on what’s in my beauty cupboard at the time. At the moment, I’m using Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Moisturiser and it’s heavenly.
Not quite a BB, not quite a moisturizer, it makes the perfect primer. I always pop it on at the end of my morning beauty routine, just before applying my makeup. It gives my skin the perfect finish and I have to say, I really should rebuy this one – in fact, I think I will do that now!
Finally, I didn’t think this would be complete without touching on body skincare at least a little. It can be such a big part of my daily routine – I do it twice a day without fail. I have tried many and felt quite disappointed at times, so I always end up going back to the same product. It always used to be Garnier’s Ultimate Beauty Oil until they brought out the same product for Extra Dry Skin – then that became my favorite.
Who doesn’t love extra moisture in their lotions, right?! It’s so light to apply and always makes my skin feel super moisturized all day long. I doubt anything else will convince me to switch!
So, there it is, my ultimate list of the best skin care products of all time – well, in my opinion! Do you have any of the same in your list?
