If you have dark circles beneath your eyes, you’ve probably tried many under eye creams that were not as effective as the price tags would indicate.
You can save money by using things you have in your pantry to solve under-eye problems, for a lot less money.
Tea bags for under eye circles
Tea bags have been used for years as an effective treatment for dark circles under eyes.
Of course, tea can be refreshing to drink, but it can refresh your skin, as well. You can use either cold or warm teabags on your eyes and allow them to rest there for just a few short minutes. Pat the skin dry after you remove the tea bags and you will notice that your skin feels rejuvenated and looks younger.
Crushed mint leaves
Fresh and crushed mint leaves can help to remedy those under eye circles.
They will have an immediate cooling effect which will soothe your eyes to help get rid of circles. Place crushed leaves of mint over your skin near the eyes and leave them there for several minutes. Wipe off excess mint juices with a cool cloth after you remove the crushed leaves.
Don’t buy tomato paste in a can or jar for this remedy. Use tomato juice and lemon juice and then add a pinch of flour and one of turmeric powder. Apply this paste gently to the areas of skin beneath your eyes. Leave it there for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off gently but thoroughly with warm water.
Potatoes and Cucumbers
Cucumbers and potatoes are very soothing to your skin. They can be applied to the area around your eyes to help in diminishing swelling and darkness. Slice your potato or cucumber and lay slices on your eyes. You can use juice made from cucumbers or potatoes, too, and use cotton balls to dab it around your eyes. If you’re comfortable leaving the juice on the under-eye areas overnight, they will have a better chance to work.
Whether you use a frozen spoon, a cloth that has been dipped into cold water or a bag of ice, this will help in relieving the swelling under your eyes. It helps in reducing puffiness and dark circles, too.
Almond oil can be applied gently to the skin below your eyes before you go to bed. Put on just a little bit, so that your sheets will not be stained by the oil. When you get up the next morning, wash it gently off with clear, warm water.
Water is important in every aspect of your health. Your skin is no exception. You should drink between eight and 10 glasses of water each day. This helps in promoting better blood circulation around the eyes. This will allow less blood to accumulate beneath them.
Dark circles under your eyes can be hereditary, age-related or exacerbated by stress. Be sure that you always get enough sleep every night, if you can. Lack of sleep can add to the appearance of circles under your eyes.
